What is a Kettlebell?
A "kettlebell" (or "girya" in Russian) is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Kettlebells start around 5 pounds (2.3 kg) and go up from there with the most common weights being 18 pounds, 26 pounds, 35 pounds, and 53 pounds.

Why Train With a Kettlebell?
Unlike traditional dumbbells, the kettlebell's center of mass is extended beyond the hand holding it. This allows for a wide variety of ballistic and swinging movements designed to build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders. Due to this design and the variety of movements, kettlebells have been a well established fitness tool for hundreds of years.
